Our story begins thanks to a mutual friend—and now our wedding officiant—Ben Butler (shoutout to Ben!). Ben and Jordan go way back, having met as kids in Hebrew school. Years later, Ben met Rafa while studying abroad in China. When Ben and Rafa returned home, he introduced Rafa to Jordan during a night out in Southern California.

From that first meeting, our paths crossed several more times, and a friendship slowly began to grow. But it wasn’t until Jordan moved to San Francisco in 2018 that our bond truly deepened. Once there, we became inseparable. Over time, it became clear to just about everyone—except us, apparently—that our friendship was turning into something more. Eventually, we caught on too and decided to give dating a shot. Jordan likes to say he's one of the lucky few to have made it out of the friend zone.

Since becoming a couple in 2020, we’ve shared life’s many highs and lows together—from navigating a global pandemic to exploring new places and creating a home we love in San Francisco. Through it all, our partnership has grown stronger, and our love deeper. Now, we’re thrilled to take this next step—getting married—surrounded by our closest family and friends in a place that means so much to us. Arequipa, the beautiful city where Rafa was born, is the perfect setting to begin this next chapter of our journey.
